We’ll be hiking up Welch and Dickey Mountains with a one loop hike – the Welch Dickey Loop Hike. It is a moderate hike with 1,755 feet of elevation gain in with a total distance of 3.9 miles. During this beautiful hike we'll see great views from the top mostly looking south towards Hedge and Potash mountains, alongside getting views looking east towards Mount Tecumseh. The elevation of Welch Mountain is 2,605 feet and the elevation of Dickey mountain is 2,734 feet. This is a great introduction to winter hiking, while also being awarded with great views.

What to bring:
Waterproof insulated boots
Non-cotton layers
Headlamp
2-3 liters of water insulated
Snacks and lunch. You will be burning a lot of energy!
Microspikes (snowshoes depending on trail conditions)
Gaiters
Hat
Gloves
Wool socks
Copy of map (electronic or paper)
Positive attitude
It's expected that each participant is prepared and has a copy of the map, while being responsible for their own safety. You will be turned away from the carpool pickup or at the trailhead if you do not have all listed gear.
