Winter backpacking the Appalachian trail: Warwick Turnpike to Mount Peter

We are going to hike out-and-back the AT section from Warwick NY (Route 17A and Kain Road) to Wawayanda State Park crossing the NY/NJ border and overlooking Greenwood Lake. Out-and-back total distance is 19.2 miles and elevation gain of 2600 ft. https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/new-jersey/appalachian-trail-warwick-turnpike-to-mount-peter. We plan to camp next to an AT shelter in Wawayanda State Park on Saturday night. On Sunday we'll be exploring the area and Greenwood Lake (fishing, kayaking?) and hike back to Warwick NY. This is a challenging backpacking trip. Please do not make it your first backpacking. Bring extra layers! Do not underestimate the temperature drop at night!

Note: There will be no privy so you have to take care of business in the wood and properly discard of your waste away from any water source.
