In this richly illustrated lecture, author and architectural historian Curt DiCamillo will trace the extraordinary life of one of the world's most enigmatic tycoons who became an English lord. It will feature Astor's most magnificent houses, from his English country estates – Hever Castle in Kent, the ancestral home of Anne Boleyn – to Cliveden House, the magnificent Thames-side palace – to his stunning London home, Astor House. DiCamillo will conclude the lecture with Lord Astor's sublime paradise of art, architecture, and gardens of Villa Astor.
After Astor’s death in 1919, the villa changed hands. It was recently acquired by new owners, who have restored the villa and gardens to their former splendor with the talented French decorator Jacques Garcia.
"Villa Astor: Paradise Restored on the Amalfi Coast" will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
