West Medford Open Studios

On June 24, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., West Medford Open Studios will host its annual free celebration of arts at Dugger Park along side the Mystic River in West Medford as well as in the West Medford Community Center. This year, the event features over 70 visual artists, lively music performances, and original readings by local writers. In addition, there will be a beer tent by by Medford Brewing Company, and guests can indulge in delicious bites from food trucks and a Goldilox bagel pop-up.

West Medford Open Studios is a community event that highlights local artists and provides a platform for showcasing their talents. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the artists, view their work, and even purchase original artwork. The festival offers a unique opportunity for visitors to explore the vibrant and diverse art scene in the community.

The event will also feature a range of live music performances. Attendees can look forward to an eclectic mix of genres, including Lekha & Friends (R&B Indie soul), occasionalbrass.com (pop & jazz), juventasmusic.org (contemporary chamber music), and @dutchisland (Indie rock).

In addition to the visual art and music, five local writers will also be giving readings throughout the day. These readings will showcase the literary talent of the community including Medford’s own Poet Laureate Terry E. Carter.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting West Medford Open Studios at Dugger Park again this year,” said event organizer Tanya Howard. “This is a great opportunity to showcase the amazing talent we have in our community and promises to be a fantastic day out for art lovers, music enthusiasts, and foodies alike.  

Admission to WMOS is free and open to the public. Dugger Park is located at the intersection of Harvard Ave. and Mystic River Road in West Medford.
