We’ll be hiking up Welch and Dickey Mountains with a one loop hike – the Welch Dickey Loop Hike. It is a moderate hike with 1,778 feet of elevation gain in Waterville Valley with a total distance of 4.4 miles (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-hampshire/welch-and-dickey-loop-trail--4). During this beautiful hike we'll see great views from the top. The elevation of Welch Mountain is 2,605 feet and the elevation of Dickey mountain is 2,734 feet. The full hike is a 4.4 mile loop.
The hike is considered to be moderate, and proper footwear must be worn, specifically hiking shoes. Please bring a couple of layers just in case of cold and wind, and don't forget to bring two liters of water along with food and snacks. Bug spray is recommended for the wooded portion of the hike. Also, please bring an A+ attitude.
This is a fine hike for people who do not have much experience, but you must be in decent shape. We'll start at the Orris Rd trailhead and use the Welch-Dickey Loop Trail which will take us past the Welch and then Dickey summits.
Actual hike time including breaks should be about 3 hours, but as is tradition, we'll get some food and drinks after the hike.
