Walk/Hike Borderland State Park

Do you hate the cold? Yep, I still do. Do you crave the outdoors? *raises hand*. Join me on a long walk through a hilly forest, broken up by views of lakes, ponds, a quarry and a 1910 mansion, which we can explore at the end of the trip.

Hike Details:
Difficulty: Easy side of moderate
Elevation Gain: 345 ft.
Total Mileage: 6.3 miles
Total Time: Approx. 3.5 hours, depending on pace and amount of breaks.

What to Bring:
$5 for parking fee
Sturdy shoes (hiking boots or trail runners preferred)
Wool socks
Wool or synthetic base layer (think workout gear-type material). This may or may not be required, depending on the weather forecast.
Mid-layer, which can be a shirt, fleece and softshell pant
Coat, hat, gloves
Water and food

Optional, but Strongly Recommended:
Hiking poles
Rain gear (top and bottom). These may or may not be required, depending on the weather forecast.
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Bug spray: please seriously consider this if we haven't had a frost yet due to EEE.
