Every other week, hosts Kait and Renata sit down with a guest for an in-depth discussion of a different book. Book picks cross genres and audiences, touching upon new releases, popular classics, and the zeigiesty titles that everyone seems to be talking about. Through their plot summary and discussion, they attempt to explain what works and doesn't work for them as they try to piece together what makes these titles so popular. While most of the books are chosen with the assumption that they won't be enjoyable, occasionally they like to pick a title representative of a genre to discuss the genre as a whole, and sometimes they even find themselves liking one of the books they were sure they would pan. Margaret H. Willison is a culture writer, podcaster, and self-described social mediate socialite. She is one half of the Two Bossy Dames newsletter, one third of the Appointment Television podcast, and a regular fourth chair on NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour.
