The Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) is holding its annual Shining Star Gala on the Boston waterfront at the John Joseph Moakley U.S. Courthouse on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 6:30 p.m., and we invite you to join us! We expect over 400 attorneys, business professionals, philanthropists, and supporters to join us for a very fun, uplifting evening!


Our keynote speaker this year is Philadelphia attorney Kristen Gibbons Feden, the special prosecutor in Bill Cosby’s sexual assault re-trial and recent conviction. In addition to Attorney Feden, we will present the Champion Award to the national law firm of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, for their continued, long-standing commitment to the VRLC and our National Privacy Rights project. Our Shining Star Award will go to Jeremy Meisinger from the firm of Foley Hoag, for his committed pro bono work on behalf of VRLC’s client survivors. The Courage Award will be presented to a VRLC client, followed by a Call To Action.


This fun and uplifting event will also feature restaurant stations run by some of Boston's best chefs, two bars, an exciting mystery box raffle, and a silent auction. This event is not to be missed!


Many victims of sexual assault see their lives spiral out of control post-assault. Having a lawyer by their side can help a victim stay safely in their home, job, school, and sometimes even in the country.


The Victim Rights Law Center provides free, comprehensive legal services for survivors of sexual violence to help them rebuild their lives, and promotes a national movement committed to seeking justice for every rape and sexual assault victim. The VRLC is the first non-profit law center in the country dedicated to using civil legal services to help victims of sexual violence stabilize their lives in the critical areas of education, employment, housing, privacy, safety, immigration, and financial stability. The VRLC puts 91¢ of every $1 we receive directly into our work to represent sexual assault survivors, and we rely heavily on in-kind donations from businesses and supporters just like you.
