Where will You Call Out for Spring?
March 9th promises to deliver a Spring vibe to anyone suffering from the Winter blues. Jazz vocalist & musicians collective DivaNation PHILLY and the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts join to present stellar Jazz vocalists alongside Baltimore-based multi-instrumentalist Warren Wolf and the “Wolf Pack Combo” in two shows on Saturday, March 9th at 7 pm and 9:30 pm.
Wolf has earned an A-list track record recording and performing vibes, keys, and percussion with household names such as Christian McBride, John Scofield and Tia Fuller. Sherry Wilson Butler, began her career with Teddy Pendergrass, and the 10 additional DivaNation singers have storied careers spanning several continents. Each will present a spring-themed song accompanied by Erica Corbo, piano, Rich Hill, bass and Duck Scott, drums. From the youngest, 17-year old Halee Junee and 20-yr old Maya Belardo to the more seasoned Divas such as bebop legend Carol Harris, each vocalist will captivate the audience and set the stage for the Wolf Pack Combo.
DivaNation Director Khadijah Renee shares, "Vibing For Spring" reflects the wonderful vibratory energy of the vibraphone coupled with the vocal flowery of the female jazz singer, bringing life and hope for the future of jazz music in the region….With this project, we hope to continue to display the diversity of women in jazz with our female-led Rhythm section and vast array of singers.”
Warren Wolf & the Wolf Pack will play both of the second sets!
