Discover the hottest new date night around Boston this year during a glass fusion class at The Glass Bar. It’s easy to learn the basics off glass fusion and the possibilities are endless.
At The Glass Bar, we work one on one with you to ensure you are completely comfortable creating your own piece of art. Our instructors will guide you through the process of creating a piece you'll love.
There's no better way to heat things up this Valentines Day than working by a kiln!
What will you do?
Class will begin with a brief lesson in glass safety to ensure confidence when working. Next we will spend approximately 10 minutes learning how to cut glass.
The lesson will begin with straight lines, including different polygonal shapes. Then we will graduate to curved lines and on-to circles. You will learn to use a variety of glass working tools including a grinder.
Once we have completed the glass cutting lesson we will move on to designing.
Everyone will receive a clear piece of glass to use as a base piece, and the brainstorming will begin.
Then, you will gather the glass you plan to use for your project. Using your new knowledge of glass cutting, you will begin to bring your ideas to life.
During this class, we will work in the medium of glass fusing, learning the mechanics of cutting as well as the basics of kiln work.
Each partipant will receive a clear piece of 6 x 6 glass to design as you wish.
Important Info
Glass projects are food safe and dishwasher safe.
This session is 2 hour long.
Course fee is $100 per COUPLE. Use of tools, materials and instruction included (no additional fees.) Online registration required.
Maximum 18 participants per class, minimum of 2.
Please wear close toed shoes. Projects must fire in the kiln over night and may take up to two weeks for completion.
We are not responsible for projects after 30 days.
We are not responsible for projects that break in the kiln.
All participants must have a completed copy of the liability waiver on file.
