Beethoven's Language: Ineffable, Blissful, Struggle-Filled Humanity
Featuring Trio Cleonice (Ari Isaacman-Beck, violin; Gwen Krosnick, cello; Emely Phelps, piano) and guest artist bass-baritone Josh Quinn
Trio Cleonice and Friends examines Beethoven's extraordinarily multi-faceted language: from the impassioned, bravura Kreutzer Sonata to the distilled, intermezzo-like Op. 126 Bagatelles, to the heartbreaking lyricism of Adelaide. We'll round out the evening with a piano trio by one of Beethoven's most interesting composition students, Carl Czerny, providing insight into Beethoven's impact and influence.
All Trio Cleonice and Friends concerts take place on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm in the cozy Parlor at United Parish Brookline. We take great joy in creating an unpretentious, conversational environment for these performances and welcome everyone - from experienced concert-goers to those who have never heard chamber music before.
