Together Again for the First Time: A Reunion Benefit for Arts at the Armory

Tongue in Cheek, a fun-loving all-women’s, multi-genre group of singers, invites you to a special evening of upbeat cabaret and offbeat hijinks to benefit Somerville’s beloved nonprofit arts space, Arts at the Armory.

Arts at the Armory has been hosting Tongue in Cheek’s thrice-yearly cabaret shows since 2011, allowing it to offer its programs free of charge, and enabling it to reach a broad, diverse audience from Somerville and surrounding communities.

Tongue in Cheek will be expressing its appreciation on Friday, June 7, from 7:30-10:00 p.m., with an evening of high-spirited musical entertainment – a mix of cabaret, jazz, Broadway, rock, soul, folk and country – to benefit Arts at the Armory.

In keeping with the spirit of the relationship between the two organizations, the evening will be presented free of charge, but Tongue in Cheek requests donations to support Arts at the Armory’s mission of galvanizing the creative spirit by providing a space where working artists and the community can come together.

Performing on June 7 will be current and former members of Tongue in Cheek: Marilyn Dale
Lynda D’Amour, Catharine David, Pamela Enders, Debbie Lane, Jen Lawrence, Gail Leondar-Wright, Ashley Lieberman, Alexia Motley, and Jinny Sagorin, with Joe Mulholland and David Harewood at the piano.

A raffle of unique items and experiences will provide an additional opportunity for guests to support Arts at the Armory. Among them: one-on-one coaching and private music instruction from several of the performers, CDs by Tongue in Cheek members, New England Revolution Tickets, an NPR basket of books and swag, and gift certificates from Redbones, Daddy Jones, Otto, Brass Union, The Independent the Somerville Theatre, The Training Room, and Arts at the Armory.

The event will be located in main performance hall at 191 Highland Avenue, Somerville.

As always, admission is free. But please give generously at the door to help Arts at the Armory continue to host free and low-cost community art events. Those unable to attend may send checks to Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143, noting that the donation is in support of the “TiC Fundraiser.”
