Saturday, February 25, pairs the Boston-based new music ensemble Hub New Music with the Dartmouth Contemporary Music Lab featuring guest artist Travis Laplante (Battle Trance) and led by Amy Garapic (TIGUE). Described as “Dynamic and committed (Boston Globe),” Hub New Music presents a program of recent chamber works by Mason Bates, Nico Muhly and Providence based composer Kirsten Volness, while the Dartmouth CML collaborates with acclaimed saxophonist/composer Travis Laplante on a program of composed and improvised works featuring percussion, electronics, piano and amplified found objects. This show will be held at the Magnolia Loft, a warm intimate loft space in Jamaica Plain, just off the Green Street Orange line stop.
