WICF is thrilled to again be sponsored by HBO in 2019, for the 10th anniversary of the Women In Comedy Festival. The festival will be held from Thursday, May 2nd through Sunday, May 5th, all over Greater Boston.

Phoebe Robinson, Nikki Glaser, Guys We F**ked, and improv group Wild Horses, featuring Lauren Lapkus, Stephanie Allyne, Mary Holland, and Erin Whitehead, will all headline WICF shows at the 1,200-seat Wilbur Theatre. The world-famous Boston Pops present a special headlining series of shows starring Emma Willmann, Jenny Zigrino, Chanel Ali, Helen Hong, and Liza Treyger at the historic Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square, Cambridge. The hit podcast Bechdel Cast and Boston legend Christine Hurley headline at the Rockwell in Davis Square, and this year WICF features showcases presented by HBO, The Onion and Clickhole, and Just For Laughs all around town.

Over 100 comedians from all over North America will perform at many of Greater Boston’s hottest comedy clubs like Nick’s Comedy Stop, ImprovBoston, The Hideout, The Gas at Great Scott, and Bill’s Bar. Come explore the places comedy insiders go to see the headliners of tomorrow (and headliners of today, who often drop by!). This is one of the best weeks of the year to go out to shows because WICF has selected many top performers from all over the country who don’t get to Boston regularly, alongside Boston’s own top comedians.

One more paragraph before you scroll down! Smack dab in the middle of this year’s festival, on Saturday, May 4th, WICF takes you to the movies at the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square. Our official film selections will be screened and winners of the film competitions (including the audience award – you decide!) will be announced. WICF will also host an exclusive film pitch session in front of industry executives. Come find out how scripts get pitched to become full-fledged films.
