What is the show all about?
The Sun Queen is an Urbanity original work that follows a girl who has been prophesied to be the next dance legend, but can’t seem to find her own groove. Each location on the journey marks a different point in The Sun Queen’s growth from infancy to womanhood and emotional journey as she discovers more about herself.


What is a “dance journey”?
We’re re-envisioning the way dance can be experienced. The Sun Queen is a unique production, a "dance journey", taking place in six different rooms between two locations in Boston's South End. Audience members book their expedition, as dinner reservations, choosing from 1 of 4 times each night. Intimate groups of 20 audience members per show follow a cast of 40 dancers, like a “dance crawl”
