A workshop with TNM’s co-founder and Creative Director Chris Trew
“They have built their own language of improv” – The Austin-American Statesman

Get a sample of the methods used in the most popular improv classes in Austin and New Orleans. Learn to work your scenes without the aid of a suggestion from the audience. Discover how to map patterns using only the beginning of the scene. Experience a workshop where each student is guaranteed a plethora of stage time. The New Movement has been aggressively exploring an alternative approach to improv since its inception – this workshop is a peek into what we think makes improv tick.

ABOUT THE TEACHER
Chris Trew has been teaching workshops all over the country since 2006. He’s opened multiple comedy theaters, founded several comedy festivals, and co-authored a book, Improv Wins. He can be seen this Fall as the host of the Air Sex Championships on cable television. The Chicagoist said Trew is “bit of a renaissance man from an alternate universe” in a recent Chicago Improv Festival post.
