This concert has been moved from the Dudley Library (closed temporarily due to flooding) to the new Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building, also in Dudley Square. The Makanda Project will feature the great saxophonist Oliver Lake. The band will play some of Mr. Lake's music as well as selections from its repertoire of previously unrecorded Makanda Ken McIntyre compositions, as arranged by leader John Kordalewski. There will also be live painting sponsored by MassArt's sparc! the ArtMobile. Kurtis Rivers, Oliver Lake (alto saxophone); Sean Berry, Arni Cheatham (tenor saxophone); Charlie Kohlhase (baritone saxophone); Jerry Sabatini, Phil Grenadier (trumpet); Sarah Politz, Alfred Patterson (trombone); Bill Lowe (bass trombone); John Kordalewski (piano); Carlos Pino (bass); Yoron Israel (drums).
