The Makanda Project's series of free summer jazz concerts continues with another event on the lawn of First Church in Roxbury. The 13-piece band featuring several of the area's best players will perform two sets, with young vocalists from the Butterfly Project performing at intermission. Kurtis Rivers, Lee Odom, Sean Berry, Temidayo Balogun, Charlie Kohlhase (saxophones); Jerry Sabatini, Lemuel Marc (trumpets); Alfred Patterson, Bill Lowe (trombones); Naledi Masilo (voice); John Kordalewski (piano); Avery Sharpe (bass); Warren Smith (drums).
