At The Ghostly Chanteuse presented by Original Gravity, you'll experience the other-worldly Mouthpiece vocal compositions of Erin Gee in the unique, fantastical environs of Down the Road Beer Company taproom in Everett. Bring your imagination, as nothing can exactly prepare you for this synergy of inspired craft beer and inspirational modern performance artistry. Additionally, DTR Brewmaster Donovan will be crafting a one-night only specialty beer to pair with the concert, inspired by Erin's music.
Erin Gee is composer in faculty at Brandeis. Through her Mouthpiece series she has created an ephemeral world that expands the possibilities of the voice, leaves behind the constrictive structure of language, and replaces histrionic female vocals with a virtuosic mouth and a tabula rasa for an emotional palate. Erin Gee presents a set of voluptuous enigmas – a taxonomy of finely-etched utterances devoid of meaning; an orderly syntax of sounds that vaporizes fixed forms; an aesthetic environment that feels at once extraterrestrial and uncannily familiar.
Down the Road is one of the fastest growing craft breweries in the Greater Boston area, with a roster of unique and inspired beers. Their taproom sports not only a diverse array of beer styles, they also have an extensive old-style pinball arcade! Bring quarters.
