On Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 6:00PM–8:00PM, The Beehive’s co-owner and resident curator, Jennifer Epstein, alongside guest curator, David Murauskas, will present the 31st installment in the South End landmark’s continuing art series, Sting! entitled, Kinesis.
The definition of the word "kinesis" is a movement in response to a stimulus. The pieces contain bold movement, energy, color, layering, and thought in response to the artists' variety of experiences, emotions, and inner thoughts. All the paintings contain some degree of abstraction, so the artwork welcomes open and shifting interpretations, reactions, and projections beyond the surface. The kinetic energy of the pieces range from the sharp physicality of "A Kick in the Teeth" to the soft emotion of "Kind Heart" to the whimsy of "One Hundred Buildings."
