On Monday, April 15, 2019, in celebration of the 2019 Boston Marathon, The Beehive, located in Boston’s South End, will host its sixth annual fundraiser in support of the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation. From 3:00PM to midnight, 100% of proceeds will be donated towards the organization’s mission to fuel cutting-edge research and clinical programs in trauma healing and emergency preparedness.
The Reny and Epstein Families established the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation in gratitude to the doctors at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) that saved their 18-year-old daughter’s life and limbs following the explosions at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon. The Stepping Strong Center catalyzes multidisciplinary collaborations that inspire groundbreaking innovation, effective prevention and compassionate intervention to transform care for civilians and military heroes who endure traumatic injuries and events. The Beehive is proud to honor the medical heroes at BWH who treated and saved 39 patients with life-threatening injuries that day and support this effort to turn the tragedy that befell the Reny Family into hope for the future.
The Beehive invites guests to show their support with a day and evening of live reggae performances and cuisine from Executive Chef Phil Lewis, with signature dishes including Deviled Eggs with bacon and spiced carrot slaw; Roasted Beets with labneh, pomegranate, and cashew dukkha; Atlantic Salmon with roasted Romanesco, black rice, cauliflower puree and walnut-caper salsa verde; and Duck Breast with parsnip, blood orange, celery, mint, pistachio and aged balsamic.
Start Line Brewing Company will also treat Beehive guests to a selection of small-batch, craft brews, with a complimentary champagne toast provided by Chandon in honor of the annual benefit and to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings.
