The 8th annual Boston Palestine Film Festival runs from October 17-26, 2014. Opening Film: May in the Summer, a buoyant comic drama about the disorientation of diaspora (10/17/14, MFA 7p). Director Cherien Dabis in conversation. Featured films: Giraffada, an inspirational drama about tending a zoo under occupation (10/24/14, MFA 7p) and My Love Awaits Me by the Sea (10/23/14, MFA 7:30p), a lyrical biographical work about finding the way back to a lost homeland through poetry. Director Mais Darwazeh in conversation. Closing Film: Mars at Sunrise, an expressionistic experimental feature exploring the power of art to transcend a war waged on imagination (10/26/14, MFA 3p).
