'Tattoos on the Heart' is a compelling and heart-warming testimonial by Father Greg Boyle, a Jesuit priest who chose to spend his life in the most dense gang-active part of the country, building a community of healing, fraternity, and meaningfulness. Father Greg's stories make us deeply reflect on the meaning of life, death and loss, the power of healing and redemption, and the transformative force of our own superpowers like compassion, grace, love - when we choose to activate them and offer them to the world.

"In Africa they say 'a person becomes a person through other people'.

Gangs are bastions of conditional love—one false move, and you find yourself outside. Slights are remembered, errors in judgment held against you forever.

This is a state from which it is hard to recover. Homeboy Industries seeks to be a community of unconditional love.

Community will always trump gang any day.

We see in the homies what they don’t see in themselves, until they do."

We'll be sharing some highlights from Father Greg's life story and provide prompts for a meaningful evening of shared reflection and discussion.
