Argentine winemakers seem to have found the perfect corner of the world to grow Malbec. Is Malbec just a fad or is it here to stay? Cabernet Sauvignon is grown throughout the world. It is the benchmark of all the big reds. Some of the most expensive and ageworthy wines use Cabernet Sauvignon as their foundation. Does Cabernet Sauvignon still reign supreme or is its kingdom under threat? Explore these questions and more at the Malbec vs. Cabernet Sauvignon Taste-Off. We will provide some head-to-head match-ups of these two wine varietals and let you be the judge. In the process, you will learn basic wine tasting skills and how to describe the different personalities of these wines. Appetizers and an assortment of cheeses will be served during class to introduce some of the fundamentals of pairing wine and food.At the end, you can cast votes for your favorites, and we will declare a victor of this installment of the Taste-Off.
