SuperShag is teaming up with One Can Help to host a fundraiser at the 17th annual Valentine's Day Party and Polka Contest!
About:
One Can Help was created by juvenile court appointed attorneys and social workers who saw that more resources were needed to help children in crisis overcome poverty barriers and succeed. Heartbreaking cases take place every day in juvenile court, and one of the top influences is poverty.
Since the creation of One Can Help, a 501(C)3 organization, more than 5,000 children and families have been helped. On Friday, February 8th, you can help too!
The mission is to provide the missing resources for at-risk and foster children which are not available elsewhere, such as:
- Laptops so motivated students can do schoolwork or apply to colleges.
- Train/ bus passes so lonely children in foster care or hospitals can see parents regularly.
- Emergency rent so families unable to work during a child's crisis, remain in housing.
- Activities (such as dancing) or camps so at-risk children can be well supervised and inspired.
Providing these urgently needed resources has been shown to improve lives, keeps more families together, reduce the need for foster care, decrease homelessness, and help our juvenile court and child welfare systems better support our neediest at-risk and foster children!
