A supermoon total lunar eclipse will take place tonight for the fist time since 1982. This will be the last time such an event will happen until 2033.
What's a supermoon lunar eclipse? Basically an eclipse coinciding with a supermoon (when the moon is full + closest to the earth). During the lunar ellipse the moon will appear red, and because it's a supermoon, it'll appear bigger than normal. This video explains it perfectly:
