Two Boys Lost, by Bill Doncaster
Directed by James Peter Sotis
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
Every Christmas Eve, Eddie Molineaux goes looking for his brother Jimmy, because it’s Christmas and “Ma wants you home.” Mentally ill, scared of shelters, Jimmy sleeps in the unlocked utility rooms of the MBTA. This is the last Christmas together for the Molineaux clan and everyone in the family’s got something to say about it, even if they don’t all know what really happened.
Two Boys Lost is entirely fictional, but inspired by playwright Bill Doncaster’s time working at a shelter on Albany Street in Cambridge some years ago, and the death of one of those guests at the Davis Square Red Line station when he was later a reporter at The Somerville Journal.
Stickball is pleased to be hosted by the Massasoit Elks Lodge, 55 Bishop Allen Drive, Cambridge, MA, with — in Stickball tradition — a full bar in the performance space serving throughout the show. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Maps and other information about visiting Central Square are available at the link below.
STEP ON ME
Early arrivers can enjoy Step On Me — a raucous comedy short by Lisa Wagner Erickson, directed by Jen Alison Lewis. In Step On Me, Stacy is trying to end a volatile relationship with her bathroom scale, but her scale has other ideas. Staged as sort of a “cartoon before the movie,” Step On Me begins at 7:45.
Stickball Productions expresses its gratitude to the Cambridge Arts Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council for their support through the Local Cultural Council Grant program.
