The inaugural Step Beyond Celiac Philly 5K run/walk at the Philadelphia Zoo is raising funds to advance celiac disease research. The event benefits Beyond Celiac whose mission is to advance research to find treatment options and, eventually, a cure for celiac disease.
Step Beyond Celiac Philly 5K is a fun run/walk event for the entire family. The course will be a unique experience, taking runners and walkers around the Philadelphia Zoo.
Pre-registration fees for a walker/runner are $40 for adults and $35 for kids. Day-of registration fees are $50 for adults and $45 for kids. Team registrations are also available and provide discounted registration fees for getting the gang together. Register as a team captain and invite friends to register as Team Members – $35 for adults and $30 for kids until race day.
All participants receive a commemorative t-shirt (if registered by May 17) and free same-day admission to the Philadelphia Zoo. Gluten-free boxed lunches are available for purchase with registration until June 4. The Phillie Phanatic and other special guests will be on hand to cheer on the participants.
Prizes will be awarded to the overall male and overall female winners as well as to top youth finishers in multiple age brackets.
