Al Janik presents the umpteenth annual ST. STANISLAUS DAY POLKA PARTY: A little touch of Poland at Cuisine en Locale in Somerville, Ma (formerly Anthony's Function Hall).
Join for a celebration of Polish subculture in honor of the Patron Saint of Poland, St. Stanislaus, who was martyred for his courageous stance against the unbridled lust, savage cruelty, and acts of rapacity of the Polish King Boleslaus II. No matter whose side you take in that argument, come dressed in red and white for an evening of polkas, pierogies. and Polish beer.
Polka all night long with al janik's Plastyczny Ser Orkestra (roughly translated as Plastic Cheese Band) which includes Matt Burke(ski) on drums, Wolf Wortis(cywitcz) on bass, Kevin Hensley(kowitz) on guitar, Dan Teager(ski) on trumpet, Mark Chenevert(szctz) on clarinet, Walt Bostian(ovitz) on trombone, Brat Cleve(ski) on keyboards, and featuring Michael McLaughlin(ski) on accordion.
