This is a class on understanding and creating sketch comedy. This course is aimed at developing your general writing and premise-pulling skills, and it’s also about taking your weird existential crises and making those funny too. You will consistently create original sketches at home, then share them with the class to discuss and enjoy each other’s work. We will emphasize the benefit of a regular writing habit, and help you find strategies that work for you. We will value fresh, unique ideas that originate from your authentic, weird brain. Most importantly, we will watch a lot of funny sketches and nerd out about comedy together.
