Bad Company's Simon Kirke and Amy Fairchild are combining their talents, for a limited number of shows this fall. Sharing a band, each will be showcasing their own material and collaborating on some fan favorites from their respective musical careers.

Simon Kirke (www.officialsimonkirke.com) first hit American shores in 1969 as the drummer in Free, when they opened for Blind Faith at Madison Square Garden. Over the next few years, Free's impact on rock music was immense. Allmusic notes that the band “helped lay the foundations for the rise of hard rock, stripping the earthy sound of British blues down to its raw, minimalist core”, and Kirke’s stylized drumming was a crucial part of that sound. In 1974, Kirke and Paul Rodgers formed Bad Company, and their self-titled first CD went on to sell over 10 million copies. In addition to his years with Free and Bad Company, Kirke has also worked with countless other legends including Bo Diddley, Wilson Pickett, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ronnie Wood, Ray Charles, and four tours with the Ringo Starr All-star Band. Despite all the success as one of rock music's most in-demand drummers, Kirke had another musical itch he wanted to scratch, and in 2011, he stepped out on his own with his first solo album. Filling the Void, on Megaforce Records. Kirke wrote or co-wrote all of the tracks on Filling The Void, playing not only drums, but guitars, bass, and keyboards as well. Commenting on the CD, he said, “I've been writing songs for many, many years and I just wanted to get them out, like an exorcism.”The result was an autobiographical look back at where he had been over the previous ten years. Rolling Stone called it, “a heartfelt disc that evokes eminent West Coast singer-songwriters, particularly Jackson Browne and Don Henley”.

Amy Fairchild (amyfairchild.com) has had much success in her musical career, including winning both the NYC Lilith Fair Talent Competition in 1999, and the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Competition in 2001, (putting her in the company of past winners Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett and Nancy Griffith). Fairchild truly came into her own when she teamed up with songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Adam Steinberg and in 2002 released, Mr Heart. Songs from this record were placed in independent films, TV shows, including Dawson's Creek, and Joan of Arcadia, and the stage show, Spiderman Live!. She also received high honors in multiple songwriting contests, including consecutive first place honors in The John Lennon Songwriting Contest, with “Falling Down” taking the contest's 2002 Maxell Song of the Year, and also won the Billboard World Song Competition. Dave Marsh of Rolling Stone said, "If there still was a recording industry, this would come out on a major label and would be such a big hit you'd be sick of her by now. Not many people make records this good."
