Boston Comedy legend Steve Sweeney is coming to Showcase Cinema de Lux Revere and is wicked excited to meet you! Showcase Cinemas is proud to present a special screening of the new movie “Sweeney Killing Sweeney,” including a Q&A and meet and greet with Steve Sweeney, director, Lisa Aimola, and Boston comedy legends Tony V and Frank Santorelli.


The film centers around aging Boston standup comic Sweeney, "The Character King" (Steve Sweeney) who gets a shot at a national cable special in Los Angeles. Sweeney is faced with the difficult decision to drop the locally referenced colorful Boston "characters" that have become a staple of his home field success. But, to his dismay, the characters that are cut from his act "come-to-life" and seek their revenge by trying to kill him. Sweeney is a gritty fantasy about never giving up on your dreams…no matter what kind of nightmares may come from them.


The screening and Q&A event is open to the public on November 7th at Showcase Cinema de Lux Revere. “Sweeney Killing Sweeney” will also be playing at the Woburn, Randolph, Foxboro, Dedham, and Providence locations on November 8th.
