On Tuesday evening, November 1, Cafe ArtScience Bar Director/Partner, Todd Maul will host journalist, author and fellow cocktail aficionado, Kara Newman for a book signing and casual cocktail reception to celebrate the launch of her newest book, Shake. Stir. Sip.: More than 50 Effortless Cocktails Made in Equal Parts (Chronicle Books). Newman’s second book, Shake. Stir. Sip. aims to help home bartenders master simple cocktails made with equal measurements of a few simple ingredients — classic Negronis, Gimlets, Martinis and more. Guests are invited to sample Maul's creative spins on these classic cocktails, such as his signature Smoked Cocoa Nib Negroni and Clarified Lime Gimlet, each priced a la carte, alongside complimentary bar bites from Executive Chef Patrick Campbell. Signed copies of Shake. Stir. Sip. will be available for purchase for $16.95 each, and the author will be onsite to discuss her work and answer questions.
