Second Sunday Concert Series – July 9, 2017, 4-6 PM

Boston Sculptor’s Gallery presents three distinct solo performances of noise rhythm and tone, illustrating varied approaches to sound / music.

Victoria Shen
Bromp Treb
Sakiko Mori

Victoria Shen is a multimedia artist and musician whose work is positioned at the intersection of art history, pop culture, and identity politics. Utilizing live video processing, analog modular synthesizers, contact microphones, and other hand-built electronics, Shen's work is sculptural both in the design of the devices she builds and in the acoustic texture they produce. Shen has performed at the MIT Cube and Harvard University Holden Chapel.

Bromp Treb is Neil Cloaca Young a western Mass based artist who works with noises, moving images, and events. He has many recordings in circulation and has screened in and performed at fancy-pants places like ICA Boston and the High Zero Festival as well as countless basements, bars, lofts, living rooms, closets and art spaces all around North America and Europe.

Sakiko Mori is a performer, piano tuner, event organizer and shiatsu practitioner currently based in Providence, RI. She runs an all-night J.S. Bach marathon concert every year, which mixes classical musicians with experimental sound/performance artists exchanging interpretations of Bach. For this performance, Mori will be wandering in between poles - traditional western music & non-traditional unknown, structured & non-structured, analogue & digital, and probably many more.

_________

The Second Sunday Concert Series at Boston Sculptors Gallery presents a monthly collaboration with contemporary classical musicians and noise society members. The musicians are often inspired by the sculpture on display and perform interactive works in response to it. All events are free and open to the public and donations directly support the musicians.
