Horatio's the name of our dapper logo dude, and he's so dang special to us we gotta throw him a proper birthday bash! The holidays will be over, but we don't let the dark days of winter get us down - join us for some cozy cheer in the taproom on Sat. 1/5 for a day of kickass imperial and barrel-aged beer releases, special swag, fun contests, and delicious comfort food!

Snacks
The Bacon Truck will be here slingin' pork-centric eats from 12-6pm, and our friends from Brato Brewhouse + Kitchen and Daddy's Bonetown Burgers will be competing in a mac 'n cheese showdown from 6-10pm! Bar snacks will be available as always, and there will probably be cake (it'd be a pretty sad birthday without cake)!

Admission
We won't be charging an entry fee for Horatio Day, just pay for beers/swag/food as you go! Keep in mind we'll be first come, first serve for beer and some styles may kick before others. We'll be tapping beers throughout the day and keeping folks updated on social media as the menu changes!

Swag
While we aren't charging admission for the event, we'll have a limited amount of special Horatio Day glassware to have all your beers poured into for the day and take it home when you're done! (Don't worry, you can also just get your beers poured into regular old boring glassware if we run out.) Additionally, if you were one of the folks to snab an anniversary mug back in August, feel free to bring that along with you, and we'll fill it up all day (tread carefully, it's 17oz to the brim...)
We will also have stickers, pins, and other bits of swag available while supplies last!

Horatio Look-a-Like Contest
We're starting a fun new tradition this year - come on out in your best interpretation of Mr. Horatio Skellingham III, Esq. and we'll be giving away a gift card to the winner!

Hippo Hunt
Some of you may already know this, but there are eleven hippos hidden around our taproom! Spend the day hunting for 'em all and win a free sticker and bragging rights!

Why is Horatio's birthday January 5?
Because that's when he was born! Or rather, that's the closest Saturday to the origin date of the original bar napkin sketch that originally became* Horatio! He was born in The Crypt Pub in Savannah, GA as the result of some now-forgotten conversation between Jared and his cousin Brian.
* Though since he didn't really become Horatio until much later, you could make the case that this was more like his conception than his birth, but that's a weird thing to celebrate.
