The 30th anniversary season of the Roslindale Village Main Street Farmers Market begins Saturday, June 6th. This year’s market season brings the market back to the heart of Roslindale Village, where vendors, performers, and visitors can enjoy the newly renovated green space of Adams Park. The market will be open 9am to 1:30pm every Saturday, rain or shine, through November21st.

This season, the Roslindale Village Farmers Market will provide an opportunity for more vendors each week as the refurbished Adams Park will have more stall spaces than ever before. Ben Sommer, Project Manager expects 30 vendors every Saturday ranging from traditional produce farmers, specialty farmers, local food producers, as well as arts and crafts and local nonprofits of interest. New partnerships and more diverse children’s activities will be featured again this year with children’s programing each week, including kickoff entertainment from Davey the Clown, a Roslindale favorite. This year’s children’s activities will also include kung fu demonstrations, interactive art activities, and visits from the Boston Police Department and New England Aquarium. The 11:00 a.m. concert series will also continue, featuring local musicians offering everything from jazz to bluegrass every week.

Vendor registration continues to be strong as word grows about Boston’s first neighborhood farmers market. Produce farmers returning this year include: MacArthur Farm, Brookwood Community Farm, The Neighborhood Farm and Two Field Farm. Other farming operations and vendors that will be at the market on a weekly or occasional schedule include: Adey Foods (locally sourced Ethiopian), Apex Orchards (bringing a variety of fruits later in the season), Greening Rozzie (a community organization dedicated to educating the public about sustainable practices in Roslindale), We Grow Microgreens, Mycoterra Farm (producers of diverse, gourmet mushrooms), Lilac Hedge Farm (with sustainability raised meats), Foxboro Cheese (fresh local cheese), and On the Edge Knife Sharpening, where visitors can bring their kitchen knives and other edges for hand sharpening.

The Roslindale Farmers Market brings up to 3000 shoppers each week into the village, many of whom also shop at other stores in the business district. To encourage local business participation, this year’s farmers market will continue to feature Roslindale Village businesses with no, or low fees to have a booth, including Shanti: Taste of India, the Boston Cheese Cellar, and Tony’s Market. As in years past, free parking will be available at the lower MBTA lot and the municipal lot off South Street.
