Master of angst and self-loathing, comic genius Richard Lewis will perform at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Saturday, November 1 at 8pm and Sunday, November 2 at 2pm.
Lewis has taken his lifelong therapy fodder and carved it into a commanding, compelling art form. Comedy Central recognized Lewis as one of the top 50 stand-up comedians of all time. GQ Magazine named Lewis one of the 20th Century’s Most Influential Humorists. Of his many film and TV credits, he is perhaps most well known for his recurring guest star role on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. He may hold title to having the most late night TV appearances, chalking up well over 100 appearances with Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and others. Comedian Mike Jacobs, a regular at comedy clubs in New York City, opens for Lewis.
The event is a program of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Center for the Arts. Cost is $35. Students and seniors: $32. For tickets, contact 617-965-5226, [email protected] or visit www.bostonjcc.org/artsevents.
