The UN reports the world is experiencing one of the worst refugee crises and mass displacements since World War II. The crisis is affecting millions of people who are seeking safe haven from a range of countries including Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, the Congo and Burma.

How are NGOs, corporations, government and local communities responding to this crisis and President Trump’s executive order on immigration?

Join Tom Ashbrook, host of On Point, as he moderates a conversation with Stephen Kaufer, Co-founder and CEO of TripAdvisor, and David Miliband, President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee, about the response to the global refugee crisis at TripAdvisor Global Headquarters in Needham, MA.

Note: Additional panelists may be added to the final event.

About Stephen Kaufer & TripAdvisor:
Steve co-founded TripAdvisor in 2000 with the mission to help travelers around the world plan and book the perfect trip. Under his leadership, TripAdvisor has grown into the largest travel site in the world. As CEO, Steve has led the growth of TripAdvisor, Inc., which includes 24 other travel media brands that operate in 48 markets worldwide.

Steve has helped TripAdvisor become a leader in private sector engagement in addressing the global refugee crisis, an issue around which its employee and traveler community has mobilized. In September 2016, TripAdvisor announced a commitment of at least $5 million from the TripAdvisor Charitable Foundation over the next 3 years to aid the humanitarian refugee crisis.

The TripAdvisor Charitable Foundation is the corporate philanthropic arm of TripAdvisor Media Group. Since 2010, the foundation has donated more than $25 million to charitable organizations across the word addressing key humanitarian and societal issues. The Foundation was established with the mission to inspire and enable TrpAdvisor’s employees to volunteer their time and skills for causes they care about and to help strengthen human lives and communities around the world through a variety of grant programs.
