Dot after dot. Smudge after smudge. Lines drawn and quickly erased.
Drawings that mean nothing and sketches significant in the absence of others.
So many bad books and new ones to be written.
Sometimes, a storm cloud. Sometimes, a shady tree.
We can't face our fears everyday.
All's well that ends well.
Toe in the faucet to stop the water from dripping. No words sometimes.
Back then there was video stores. Back then, you had to drop stuff off and pick stuff up.
Sometimes, even the simple motions seem hard.
Sometimes, we would lie in bed at night and hear fighting in the streets."

Rosie Winthrop and Daniel Joseph are collaborating to create a space where collage, paintings, ephemera, sculptures and works on paper collide, intersect, and interact with each other and the viewer. The subject matter explores interpretation of perspective, color, the natural world vs. synthetic repetition, and objectifying emotions. By contesting the division between the realm of memory and the realm of experience, they create work both complementary and contradictory, notes are made and then crossed out again, mistakes are repeated. The collection is altered and works are confronted as aesthetically resilient, thematically interrelated material for memory and projection. The beauty of small gestures and large moments.
Curatorial note: All works NOT displayed on the walls will be available to the public for free throughout the duration of the show. Donations accepted.
