Welcome to Boston Cyclists Union’s Ramen Ride 2017! Just because it’s a little chillier doesn’t mean we stop riding and eating amazing local food! What better way to stay warm than ramen.
We’ll be visiting to three of the most awesome ramen shops in town. Don’t worry, you won’t be expected to eat 3 full-sized bowls. That’s insane! They’ll serve you their most-favorited ramen in a smaller portion so you can have space in your belly to savour all 3!
Participating locally-owned ramen shops:
Ganko Ittetsu (Coolidge Corner, Brookline)
Pagu (Central Square, Cambridge)
Shabu & Mein (Kendall square, Cambridge)
We wish we could get a vending machine to give out the “ramen tickets” Japan-style but you’ll have to come to Copley Square to get your “ramen tickets” from us. Then, we self-divide (meaning, you still get to ride with your buddies) into groups of 10-15 people to keep the lines short. You can ride to all the ramen shops on your own or follow a volunteer ride leader.
Riding to all 3 ramen shops is 8-10 miles depending on which route you take. The routes will include raised cycle tracks and (protected) bike lanes as much as Boston-ly possible.
After the ride, we’ll gather at our favorite hangout spot Flat Top Johnny’s (Cambridge) to vote on the best ramen in town. And this is where you get your commemorative Boston Ramen Ride 2017 chopsticks!
We love bikes, good food, friends & Boston. This ride is all about supporting a local economy that in turn supports better transportation options. Slurp your ramen, ride your bike, help make the Boston area better for biking and for local businesses!
All of the proceeds will be donated to Boston Cyclists Union, who are working tirelessly to make sure we have the bicycling infrastructure to ride our bikes year round!
So reduce that salt intake in anticipation and get ready slurp the best handmade ramen noodles Boston has to offer!
