The Second Annual QWERTY Festival

Saturday July 20, 10 am to 4 pm

Our Second Annual QWERTY Festival, a celebration of all things typewriter, will take place at the Museum of Printing on Saturday July 20th from 10 am to 4 pm. Visitors will hear lectures, see demonstrations, type on a vintage Royal manual typewriter, and have a chance to try out and purchase typewriters.

This special event will showcase our exhibit of more than forty typewriters plus rare office machines ranging from the first Mimeograph to the Gestetner, Ditto, and more. Over 300 people attended last year’s QWERTY Festival and we are delighted to bring it back for a second year.

On hand will be Tom Furrier of Cambridge Typewriter Company of Arlington lecturing on typewriter maintenance and selling vintage typewriters. And Alexandra Woolner of Attack Bear Press in Easthampton with her cool Poetry Vending Machine that’s chock full of poems written by poets from around the world. Visitors can type up a poem for insertion on the spot.

Admission to the QWERTY Festival is free! If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to [email protected].

The QWERTY Festival is supported in part by grants from the Andover, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Merrimac, Topsfield, and West Newbury Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

The Museum of Printing is at 15 Thornton Avenue in Haverhill, Massachusetts (Exit 49 off I-495).
