AERONAUT, in partnership with Boston public broadcaster WGBH and 99.5 WCRB, Classical Radio Boston, is delighted to invite you to the finale of the pindrop sessions!
After seven slambang events and countless moments of musical bliss, AERONAUT is proud to present our finale event of the inaugural season of this magical series! This evening which will feature one of the most thrilling musical ensembles in New England: MASARY STUDIOS, in an immersive musical and visual extravaganza. Those who follow Boston's art and performance world may recall Masary's extraordinary 2017 theatrical piece KNOW NO, commissioned by the Boston Center for the Arts. We're so excited to host these inspiring and visionary artists in our brewery.
This show promises to be unlike anything you've ever experienced.
Masary Studios is a team of artists awakening built and natural environments through live music performance and video projection mapping. By unlocking the hidden possibilities of an urban landscape or space, Masary's works are at once a performance, a dissection of architecture, and an immersive visual spectacle. The three principal members of Masary have backgrounds that include degrees in fine art, classical and world percussion, as well as years of experience in West African music studies, new music composition, curation and direction, teaching at the university and conservatory levels, and more. When approaching a new project, their inspiration comes from the structure or environment itself as well as the history and local culture embedded in the place. The animation and musical works are developed in collaboration - one informing the other - allowing many turns of reflection and refraction.

pindrop is...
a new, ticketed performance series (early bird entry is only ten bucks which supports the artists!) taking place the first Sunday night of every month at the AERONAUT taproom in Somerville, shining light on the ridiculous pleasure of listening, featuring a soft focus on classical music. No stodginess. No competing sound. Shared silence. And sweet musical goodness in our steel-tanked fermentation garden. Plus a sweet after-party hang with the musicians!
Our last seven events sold out quickly! Our last seven events sold out quickly! So far we've featured Beethoven played by a full symphony orchestra, music with viols and fiddles, Stravinsky with orchestra, actors and dance, a NYC-style cabaret event, a ragtime recital by world-famous pianist Joshua Rifkin, an all-Irish program hosted by WGBH's Brian O'Donovan, and a local singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist.
