Picture Social Justice and Human Rights - Art Exhibition Opening

gallery1581 is pleased to present a group exhibition titled “Picture Social Justice and Human Rights,” designed to promote and contribute to a collective vision of social justice and human rights expressed in visual art.

In concert with the launch of the Boston Graduate School’s new Master’s Degree in Social Justice and Human Rights, the exhibition invited artists, from teens to accomplished professionals, to create art that engaged the viewer, promoted healing within ourselves and our world, and inspired action for social justice.

Altogether, 165 pieces were submitted from which 69 pieces from 58 artists were selected. The mediums include painting, sculpture, ceramic, monotype, pastel, watercolor, and more, from artists across the United States and as far away as Turkmenistan.

The “Picture Social Justice and Human Rights” exhibition opening reception will be Friday evening, March 31, 2017 from 5:30PM – 7:30PM, and will remain at gallery1581 until June 30, 2017. Unless otherwise specified, all works on exhibit are priced for sale.

Normal gallery hours are 9AM – 5PM weekdays, and 9AM – 1PM Saturdays, excluding holidays. gallery1581 is owned by, operated by, and housed in the Boston Graduate, 1581 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA.
