Monthly practice for the Spartans. $10 fee for non-members to help cover site rental. Warm Up + Training + Grapple.


Set-up and time to change starting at 1:30, practice begins in earnest at 2pm.


Spartans Wrestling Club is a Philly-based adult recreational club that gets together once per month to train and practice Freestyle wrestling (though participants with Greco or Folkstyle experience are of course very welcome). Started in 1991, the club is open to adult members of all skill levels and was founded to be especially welcoming of lgbtq wrestlers.


Spartans practices are held the first Sunday of each month at 2pm in Philly. Practices begin with warm-up exercises and stretching. This is followed by review of the previous week’s lesson and a new technique lesson, along with time to drill those and other skills. Practices end with time for free wrestling so that we can put together everything we’ve learned.
