Photographer Lawrence Osgood is holding a solo show of his evocative nature photography at Arlington’s First Parish Unitarian-Universalist church from February 5 to April 16, 2017.


Patterns: Abstracts in Nature includes images that evoke both abstract patterns as well as concrete landscapes in nature.


“I love the idea of non-objective images that are open to the viewer’s imagination – images that reward the curious. At first glance you see something pleasant, but if you give the picture a little more time, you begin to find much more,” explained Mr. Osgood.


Many of the 14 photographs to be displayed were taken locally at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Horn Pond, and along the Charles River near Watertown Square.


These large photographs (the smallest is 2 ’ by 3 ’) are printed on aluminum or under acrylic. “I am very excited about the new high resolution cameras and their ability to capture amazing details and transfer that to very big prints,” said Mr. Osgood.
