The year 2020 marks the 100-year anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment ensuring women’s right to vote, it is also a pivotal Presidential election year. To mark this, as well as International Women’s Day, Oxfam and WBUR CitySpace are hosting a conversation on women’s rights and active citizenship in 2020.

WBUR senior news correspondent Kimberly Atkins will moderate a panel discussion on issues of gender equality, poverty, health rights, human rights, refugees and migration. Women leaders in the Boston area will discuss the various challenges that women have been facing globally and in the U.S., with an eye to the 2020 election.

The event will begin with a short musical performance and discussion with Bridget Kearney of Lake Street Dive. Refreshments will be served!
