Join us at Stonybrook Fine Arts for JP Open studios! Saturday (9/23) and Sunday (9/24), from 11am-6pm the studio will be displaying artists' work, demonstrating metal pillow inflating, and casting aluminum! One of our welding instructors will demonstrate how to inflate two sheets of metal into a pillow through welding and heating methods. Meanwhile, we'll be pouring aluminum into "scratch blocks" that you can carve into any design you like. The "scratch blocks" are small resin-bonded sand molds that can be carved with a variety of metal tools, which we'll supply. The fee for creating your own cast aluminum sculpture is $15, but watching us pour the 1100° metal is free!

Metal casting, stonecarving, jewelry making, mold making, and figure sculpture workshops are available. Custom workshops are available as well, including: wedding ring workshops, teen welding intensives, and more!
