Onward and Upward Jazz Series with The Kurtis Rivers Quartet

This concert is part of a series made possible by Design Studio for Social intervention (ds4si.com).This is also part of an initiative called "Destination Upham's". All concerts will take place at The Dudley Neighborhood,Inc.Community Building,572 Columbia Road,Dorchester,MA. This concert is the third in a four part series.

A longtime veteran of the Boston jazz scene, alto saxophonist Kurtis is well known for his quartet/quintet performances in intimate club settings. Years of jazz exploration inform his improvisation and his playing has substance and depth. As well as leading his own bands, Kurtis is currently a member of The Makanda Project. In the past he has performed with The Either Orchestra and Salim Washington’s Roxbury Blues Aesthetic.
