Olive Pierce, a skilled documentary photographer and lifelong activist, received the Bunting Fellowship from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and spent three decades on documenting Cambridge, MA. Her subjects span the local democratic process during the turbulent 70s; photography of children in Jefferson Park, a housing project in North Cambridge; and documenting the lives of city teenagers at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. In 2014 she donated several of her important works, spanning her 40-year career to the Cambridge Room, the Archives and Special Collections of the Cambridge Public Library. An exhibit of her work is currently on display on the second floor of the library, featuring three of Pierce's photographic series in Cambridge.
