Narragansett Beer & SXNE Proudly Present OldJack's 3rd Annual Holiday Homage - Friday, December 26th at The Sinclair featuring Cropduster, Airport, Oldjack, The Curtis Mayflower, Nemes, J. Clark Webber!

Cropduster was born during the early summer of 2007. Co-founders Dave Unger and Greg Hoffman, tired of pushing the boundaries of volume and velocity from their previous bands(Doc Hopper,Random Road Mother et all) decided to go a different route. The search was on for the sound of cough syrup rock. The sound of creepy deeds done in dirty doorways. The sound of distant sirens approaching after the car crash. The lads, with the help of their medication wrote a bunch of songs then searched the asylums for equally demented lunatics to share their vision. Chris Coughlin(North Street, A Confederacy of Dumpsters) joined in on hammond, Stan Day(Oxycontinentals, Melonfarmers, Herb and Sportsmen/Fishermen) torqued up the guitar and Ben Karnavas (Gimme Danger) added the bass . Soon the smell of Nyquil filled the air.

Raised on K-tel, AM/FM radio, Hee Haw, Crowded House. Sometimes-rock/sometimes-Americana/always-melodic. Five guys neck-deep in the Boston and beyond scene (Waltham, Boone, Electric City, Jenny Dee and the Deelinquents), doing a wee-bit twangy and lots of singing thing.

OldJack is a group of circumstance. While recording other bands, Lead singer/songwriter Dan “GoodWood” Nicklin would find himself requesting his clients and musician friends to help make a studio record. In the Winter of 2008 a show was offered and OldJack took its first line up. While the members have changed and the band has grown in numbers (they currently bring 8-9 people to the stage) the band is still developing it’s soul/rock sound. With two guitars, bass, drums, organ/keys, three female background singers, and a front man from yesterday, OldJack belts out their original material with lots of harmonies, big vocals, and guitar solos galore.

The Curtis Mayflower is Pete Aleksi, Duncan Arsenault, Jeremy Moses Curtis, Brooks Milgate and Craig Rawding. Five musicians creating a sound that is greater than the sum of its parts. Formed in 2013, they have quickly amassed a large body of work and a larger audience for it. Their debut album was preceded by their self released EP “Live At The Dive” and showcased the band’s ability to write powerful music on the spot. The critically acclaimed debut “Everything Beautiful Is Under Attack” was released in January of 2014 and was followed up with the new singles “King of the Fools” and “Fourth Wall” later that year. The band is currently touring and releasing new music.

Nemes has made their mark on the Boston music scene by playing everywhere from subway stations to rock venues across the city. Led by duel-frontmen, this literal band of brothers has worked their way into the New England music scene, seeping into the ears of listeners all over the northeast. With upcoming album “I Carry Your Heart” dropping October 28th, the band showcases their one-of-a-kind violin shredding and cut-to-the-core songwriting, earning their title as “One of the top 5 unsigned bands in the country (AP Magazine).” The album’s first two singles, “Butterfly” and “Black Streak,” have been experiencing success on local and national music blogs who all agree that this high-energy, heartfelt indie group has one of the most unique takes on music they have yet to hear.
